Navigate the challenges of your health care!
Your Medical Navigator is a team of board certified primary care physicians available to help individuals and families to navigate the challenges of health care.
Your Medical Navigator is your personal patient advocate, available as a professional consultant to assist in helping you to make the best decisions for your health care, based on your individual needs and circumstances.
Let’s face it: medicine has become more sophisticated and highly technical in recent years, while the number of primary care physicians is dropping. While your primary care physician should be your best resource to coordinate your care and navigate the health care maze, the reality is that pressures of insurance issues, dropping reimbursement, and rising overhead limits the time that your personal physician can spend with you at each visit.
Your Medical Navigator is designed to fill the gap in the current health care system. By working together with your primary care physician, specialists, and hospital physicians, Your Medical Navigator will guide you towards making the optimal choices for your personal health care.
Our experienced and caring physicians are available to provide guidance, support, and patient advocacy during your time of need. Unlike a ‘concierge’ or ‘boutique’ medical practice, no annual fee or membership is required. Your medical navigator physician is available to you on demand.
Primary Care Physicians are the key!
We are strong believers in the importance of primary care physicians – family physicians, internal medicine physicians, and pediatricians – and we believe that your primary care doctor should be the leader of your health care team. Unfortunately, the number of primary care physicians is decreasing, and there is expected to be an ever growing shortage of these doctors in the future as less medical students choose to enter this important profession.
In addition to the shortage of primary care physicians, increased pressures of insurance issues/managed care, dropping reimbursement, and rising overhead has further limited the amount of time that your doctor can dedicate to help you to understand all of the medical implications and options available to you.
This is where Your Medical Navigator comes in. As physicians with extensive experience in the full spectrum of family medicine, we are experts in reviewing and analyzing medical data to create treatment plan options.
Typically, a review of your medical records and sometimes a brief conversation with your doctor(s) will provide all the information our team needs to develop a detailed analysis of your health care. Your Medical Navigator will then explain your care plan in detail, without the use of medical jargon, to help you to understand your options. This explanation may take place in written form, through a telephone call, a Skype/ webcam visit, or a home visit, depending on your needs.
In addition, Your Medical Navigator can provide further information on your medical condition.
Anyone who has searched for information on a medical condition on the internet will soon realize that much online information comes from anecdotal and non-verifiable sources. With so much misinformation at our fingertips, it is not difficult to understand the amount of frustration and confusion that many feel while trying to understand their health care choices. By using Your Medical Navigator, you will receive the most up-to-date, scientific, evidence-based information available, from the most reputable sites. In addition, Your Medical Navigator will summarize and explain this information in a way that you can understand.
